Our physiology (our state of health or illness) is dependent on our lifestyle choices. Poor choices make for poor health, and change is not always easy. At Brighton Chiropractic, our coaching empowers individuals to make successful personal lifestyle change for lifelong health and happiness.
Most of us try to change lives by changing our behaviour, such as giving up foods we enjoy or starting exercise we don’t like. These changes are impossible to sustain as they go against human nature – we can’t force ourselves to seek pain or avoid pleasure for any length of time; attempting to do so will only create stress and anxiety. The key to changing behaviour is to change the belief system about the behaviour.
The key to changing behaviour
Behaviour is a symptom, a consequence of our beliefs and internal dialogue. These belief systems are chosen and can be changed (and, remember, change is the key to getting sick people well). The behaviours we exhibit are always congruent with our belief systems, so the key rests in establishing healthy belief systems.
Our coaching focuses on creating belief systems that are congruent with our values and produce desired behaviour and desired states of mind. We’ll teach you how to change your beliefs about your behaviour, make healthy choices, release yourself from fear and the addiction to deprivation and sacrifice, and become empowered in your life. A healthy belief system equates to healthy behaviour and in turn creates a healthy lifestyle.
